Passport Miracle!!!

Yesterday started off a little rough. Haddie decided she was going to wake up grumpy. We had to roll with it and get this girl an Indian passport and we have had plenty of grumpy kids on our hands before so we were all in!  Our international uber skills have finally kicked in and we made it to the passport office at our appointed time of 11am. We tried to get in to wait because we were meeting a very kind government employee, Vinod at the passport office, but language differences and a very strange security guard prevented our entry, so we just stood outside and waited.  Until out of nowhere, our buddy Kumar shows up on his motor bike, and with a few smooth words to the guard we were granted immediate access to the subterrainian parking garage waiting room. Imagine a dark, dirty, basement level parking garage, wet with water dripping through the ceiling, rows of chairs within a caged area, and the lights literally flickering on and off. I promise I am not making this up! Wish we had pictures but we were strongly advised that pictures were not allowed. Hmmm I wonder why? As soon as Vinod showed up we were allowed up to the actual passport office. Haddie was initially processed around 12:30 and instead of leaving like everyone else we just sat back down and waited and prayed, and waited and prayed. By 3 the entire very large waiting room was completely empty except for the three of us. By 4 the government employees thought we were crazy and continued to inform us that passports never get issued on the same day and we should leave and wait for them to call us in a few days. By 4:30 the employees started to trickle out for the day, the janitors were mopping the floors around us and out of despair we asked if we could speak to an official. They sent someone down who stared at us from behind a glass wall for a few minutes. By 5 o'clock Vinod showed back up and with a smile mentioned that the official had decided to post Haddie's passport that day. We quickly learned that this meant we still would not actually receive the passport for around 3-4 more days. The story of course does not end there. We asked Vinod what else can be done, and after a few minutes he mentioned that we could try to request an immediate issuance directly to the director. The request was made and by 6:30 Haddie's freshly printed passport was in our hands! With tears in our eyes we thanked everyone still in the building but knew in our hearts we had truly just witnessed a small miracle.  Nobody reading this should ever doubt what God can do.

Us waiting at the passport office as they all went to lunch

Our friend Kumar helping us out yet again.

Next day we picked up the rest of her paperwork from Vinod's office and said good bye to the wonderful people at the Courtyard Marriott in Hyderabad and went to the airport to fly to Delhi.  We loved everyone at the hotel they so kind and they loved Haddie!  They will be missed for sure by us .  So on to the flight,  which means first flight for the little miss Haddie Bharathi.  She did awesome no  tears or fears.  Although the she hated the seat belt, does not like being strapped down.

On to our Friday,  but homes Thursday night.  Woke up in Delhi and got Haddie's Max Med appointment done which was quite easy things get easier in Delhi, thank the Lord.  Then back to the much to nice for us hotel and out to the pool.  Haddie's first pool experience was so amazing to see.  If only we could hear her thoughts at the time.

Please continue praying for the exit visa.  God you are so marvelous, and amazing thank you for each of these experiences with Haddie.

No passport yet....

So what a day....no passport.  Then we find out the wonderful news that her birth certificate can take up to two weeks.  Immediately we freak of course!!! Only for 2 minutes then we dropped our phones and went into prayer.  A little more calm we talked about ideas and I emailed the embassy.  Then I did all I could do is sing, Haddie likes to mimic me singing.  It is a huge stress reliever for me.  Then we just played around.

This was also a stress reliever.  Sweet girl!! Well as we were getting ready to run around town to make a legal, bonded birth affidavit.  I get an email from the embassy that states all we need is the court order!!! Praise God!  So we ended up not needing to go around town so came back to the room and listened to telegu rhymes.  Thank you to those who woke up in the middle of the night and started praying without knowing why they were praying for us, we needed it today.

The passport should happen tomorrow and we are planning to book a quick trip out of Haddie's birth city to Delhi for the next steps in our way home.  Pray please it is only God getting all this through; honestly it's a miracle every time something gets done here.  Oh and by the way laundry is so expensive, we are going to have to start going to these guys!!!

Extra ordinary people...

Yesterday (Sunday) was a wonderful day despite being stuck in Hyderabad we got to visit with another family adopting from Haddie's old orphanage.  Amazing thing about this family they are also building an orphanage about an hour and a half from Hyderabad.  They are truly wonderful people and we spent worship and lunch with them yesterday which produced a lot of smiles from one little girl Haddie Moore!

Her first Sunday school and church ever!!  Our girl is learning about Jesus!!!

Haddie has begun blooming into quite the personality!  She knows what she wants and when she wants it but is willing to learn discipline.  Here are some of her firsts:

 First selfie

                                             First time helping someone.

                                              First intense lice treatment

There are some other firsts I will add over time but I would like to set her blog to private in the next week or so.  If you would like to follow it please send me your email and I will add you to the list to continue to follow her and our adoption story.  Drewrachmoore@gmail.com

Pray, Pray, Pray for her passport please we miss the other kids and want to get to Delhi soon.

The weekend...

So today is Saturday meaning we have two days of extra bonding and no paperwork.  Now I love the bonding but weekends have always been hard since the process has begun because I know nothing is getting done.  Waiting for Monday and business as usual has always been a thing to look forward too in our adoption  process, even now since we are still stuck in Hyderabad.  But this time we have our daughter!!! This in it's self is a miracle and such a blessing.  We have written orders which means that our daughter is our daughter!!!! Four years of waiting and now she is ours forever!  The relief Andrew and I felt when we held those papers was truly amazing.  God has this!  He always has even when we have felt alone in this process, He had it.  And she is home with her mom and dad.

Funny thing Haddie thinks the hotel is her home.  She is used to our routine of talking to her siblings on skype,  breakfast, back to the room to play blocks and do some paper work or work (for dad).  Then for lunch we go down to the bakery she says hi to everyone now as they all know her by name (I mean everyone!)  In only a week she has gone from this terrified little girl to a smiling and bubbly little girl which is truly amazing!  After lunch daddy works out and mommy and Haddie have play time and music time and dirty laundry gathering.  Then daddy comes back and we soon get ready for dinner.  She loves routine and she loves sleeping, which we love too.  Wow is she going to have an awakening when we get home and she sees her four siblings in person.  Oh the possibilities of her growth physically and emotionally and most important spiritually.  Which she does now close her eyes and folds her hands during prayer with a huge smile!

Amazing girl our Haddie Bharathi Moore.  Continue praying we get the passport on Monday please.

We came back to the room today to this yummy cake and a picture of us framed from the Marriott family here, so awesome!!!

Been a couple days....

So many praises and so many prayers.  Praises first-  We have our written orders which is a huge hurdle.  It is over at the SAA office waiting to be uploaded and pushed to the next step birth certificate and passport.  Haddie answers to Haddie now and she is normally all smiles even when she changed her clothes this morning which is a huge hurdle.  She understands almost everything we say so communication has been very easy so far.  Thank you Jesus!  We have stayed healthy for the most part, only a couple days of the tummy bug thank goodness for Imodium :-). Our hotel staff are wonderful and don't stare to much anymore :-).

Prayers-  Haddie still has a cough and runny nose but no fever, please pray for healing.  We miss our kids at home pray for safety and comfort.  Pray for the passport and trip to Delhi to go smoothly so we can get home.  Pray for my mom as she continues to take over our responsiblities at home.  Pray for the bonding time we have with Haddie one on one while we are in India.  Pray for our continued safety and patience in this crazy mixed up process.

Now on to the pictures you have all been waiting for.

This girl loves spaghetti and all things not to hot or cold.

In need of a manual...

There is no way to fully prepare for an adoption.  You can read all kinds of book, go to many seminars, talk to those who have gone before you and even have gone through it already; but nothing will ever prepare you for an adoption.  It takes walking through it first hand to really understand and even if you have one or two under your belt each child is so different and they carry their own baggage like we all do.  This fact is something we are finding out today.

Haddie woke up crying once she saw us.  Not sure if she thought it was all a dream and then realized we were still there and she was not with her friends or what but she was mourning and didn't want to have anything to do with me.  Andrew has been her comfort and the one she turns too for guidance and love.  Amazing man my husband is, I don't blame her.  I have read that this is normal and of course that didn't prepare me for the emotional blow to a mamas ego.  But she soon got over her mourning and started testing her boundaries.  She began walking away but making sure we were still looking and still there, she would throw things just to see our reaction, she would shake her head no when she wanted to do something that was not safe for her, and so many things you see a toddler do.  Andrew and I had quite the awaking today.  She really gave us a run for our money even with four kids under our belt we have become selfish again and got a quick lesson in selflessness that is needed with younger children.  We are getting old, lol.

So another piece of our story we had today.  Oh and she prayed with us today during lunch!!!  Which was simply amazing.  I can not wait till she knows Her wonderful Father in heaven.  Please continue praying for our written orders, we should be getting them tomorrow.  Then off to get the passport.

Sarai trying to get Haddie to smile this morning!  Oh I miss our kiddos at home!!

Walls keep coming down...God has this!

Dear Haddie,
We have only known each other for only a few days but you my girl are so loved.  When we first met you shook like a leaf, scared to even look at us.  The walls came down a little at court after hours of sitting there waiting and playing with books and bubbles.  We have been together for two full days now and the walls just keep coming down.  You went from shaking in fear to shaking in joy and laughter when daddy tickles you.  You went from not talking to trying some English words.  You are so incredibly brave my girl and oh so smart, even had someone comment on you understanding what daddy and I were saying.  You are loved my girl by your family, your friends, and most importantly your God.  Thank you for beginning to trust us little one.

Mama

Andrew and I are so in awe of God.  He is taking so many walls down for Haddie right now it is amazing.  She goes into full laughter moments and smiles at strangers even, only when we are near her though.  I have also noticed her take Andrew to the side so he didn't get run over by a cart.  That is a huge step for her to try to protect her daddy.  She is also so smart she not only knows her ABC's she knows her colors in English and she knows most of what we are saying.  Not sure how because she has had no formal schooling but wow she will outsmart us all.  I know there is a lot of healing and growing to do but she is off to an amazing start.  I can't wait to see how God will continue to help her blossom.  Simply amazing our Haddie girl is.

Please continue to pray for written orders and her passport so we can get on to Delhi.  Thank you all for your prayers and support I know I say it all the time but we can not do this without your support and prayer.
